Greetings,
Fear is the exact opposite of faith. Notice what Jesus told His disciples in the midst of a raging storm, when they felt sure that they were about to perish:
Mark 4:40 (NKJV) – “But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
The answer to Jesus’ question was obvious. The disciples were fearful because of what they saw, the sounds they heard, and their desperate situation. You can almost hear them saying to one another, “Guys, we’ve got to bail. This boat is about to capsize and we’re going to sink. There’s no way we can make it!”
When you’re filled with fear, it squeezes faith right out of you. The wrong emotions hinder faith. That’s why you must guard your thinking. I became so weary with the daily barrage of negativism that I stopped watching TV. The daily news is filled with angry rhetoric and discouraging reports. Why should I subject myself to all of this? Instead, I’ve chosen to simply keep up with important events in our world on a news app. I want to minimize those things that keep me agitated in my spirit.
Lord, today I choose to trust You with my life and my future. You alone are my safe tower of protection that can shield and protect me, and my family in the storms of life! You hold me and my family in Your strong and capable hands. Thank You for caring for me.
Today, I’m worshiping with Joseph Larson and “Why Should I Worry.”
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
