Devotional: Day 139

Greetings,

When Israel sinned and moved away from the protection of God’s grace and favor, He became really angry about how they were treated by those who had attacked them. Though Israel had sinned, God was still displeased when their enemies treated them so poorly. He never enjoys seeing us suffer. In fact, when His people were exposed to harsh treatment, they returned to God. Aren’t you glad that when we have erred, God hears our cries for help if we will return to Him?

God also promised to deliver His people and allow them to once again “possess their possessions.” In other words, He was going to restore what they had lost because of their sinful actions. Listen to Obadiah’s message of hope:

Obadiah 1:17 (NKJV) – “But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”

Thank You for loving and caring for Your people. When we do wrong and then return, You will quickly accept us and restore what the enemy has taken.

Today, I’m worshiping with Kurt Carr and “For Every Mountain.”
