Devotional: Day 142

Greetings,

God has called His Church to be a ministry of reconciliation. If there was ever a time when that is needed, it is now. In our fractured and divided world, people have become so polarized, they will hardly speak to someone who doesn’t think as they do. Because so many people are divided by ethnicities and politics, it is the Church’s responsibility to unite and heal those fractures.

2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV) – “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”

Jesus bridged that impassable chasm of reconciling God and man. We, too, are called to reconcile the unsaved to God, and one believer with another. What does that mean? Just as Christ reached down to us when we could not reach up to Him, we must intentionally seek to unite the divisions among mankind. We must not look at those who are different from us as “the problem.” Instead of waiting for them to approach us, we must follow Christ’s example of action by taking the first step!

How did Jesus unite and make us one? By loving us! “Greater love has no man than this…” He has called us to love everyone; not just those who are like us.

Today, I’m worshiping with the Binions and “Come and Tear Down the Walls.”
