Devotional: Day 2006

Greetings,

There’s no doubt about it—before the COVID-19 crisis, the passion of many believers had waned and they had become lukewarm. The average Christian was attending church only 1.7 times a month … and slipping. On average, Christians have only been giving 2.5% of their income to God, rather than the tithe. Only 32% of Christians bothered to read their Bibles every day.

One survey revealed that among U.S. pastors, only 51% believe in the moral teachings of the Bible. In fact, a group of pastors wrote a letter to the governor of their state—not to protest against abortions, but urging him to allowabortions after a fetal heartbeat had been detected. They seem to have forgotten that God appointed pastors and instructed them to become well enough informed as to the teachings of God’s Word that they could help people navigate through troubled times of controversy.

America and Western nations had walked away from the covering of God’s grace and protection. No wonder we were struck with this devastating pandemic. Along with the Psalmist, we must ask,

Psalm 85:6 (NKJV) – “Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?”

Lord, I pray that You will awaken within Your people spiritual hunger. Awaken hunger within me. I want to want You. I desire more of You. Draw us to You.

Today, I’m worshiping with Bethel and “God of Revival.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!

Pastor
