Devotional: Day 202

Greetings,

It is so easy to form those ugly habits of complaining, criticizing, and finding fault. Without even realizing it, we can fall into that awful rut of speaking negative words. That is one reason I mention so often that our speech can affect our lives for good or for bad.

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

It may not be the words we speak to others as much as what we say to ourselves. Our self-talk can be destructive—or it can be liberating and life giving. Which one is yours?

Father, I pray that You will help me cultivate a lifestyle of speaking positive, encouraging words, rather than making negative remarks that produce death.

Today, I’m worshiping with Clint Brown and “Waiting on You.”
