Greetings,
Sin demands justice and payment for our failures and mistakes. God does not demand of us an eye for an eye, or a tooth for a tooth as in the Law. All He asks is that we repent and ask Him to forgive us.
Psalm 103:10 (NKJV) – “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.”
God is so merciful to those who seek His forgiveness. He doesn’t punish us according to our iniquities. Rather, our sins were laid on the back of the sacrificial Lamb of God and He became sin for us. By taking our penalty upon Himself, He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. Oh, happy day, when Jesus washed our sins away!
Lord, I thank You for Your forgiveness. Even though I don’t deserve it, You have cleansed and forgiven me of all my sins. I will always love You, my Lord and Savior! Because of You, I have right standing in the eyes of God.
