Devotional: Day 2146

Greetings,

What constitutes real wisdom? All true wisdom begins with acknowledging that we serve an awesome God. This is what the scripture says:

Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV) – “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

When you begin to understand the greatness and holiness of God (which is the true meaning of “the fear of the Lord”), the parts of life that didn’t seem to fit will begin to fall in place. You realize that since God is so holy and that we are so unlike Him, we would be forever lost if left to ourselves!

But then Christ came to earth and gave His life for us. That, too, is more than the mind can grasp! How could He love US…so much? When we begin to comprehend this powerful truth, our worldview begins to change. We want our lives to glorify the One who died for us. We want our words and deeds to reflect His love and holiness. That’s why we must never stray away from the cross. The cross gives us the right perspective. He did so much for us. Oh how He loves us!

Jesus, thank You for the cross where You gave Your blood for me. Oh Lord, keep me near the cross!

Today, I’m worshiping with The Mississippi Mass Choir and “Near the Cross.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
