Devotional: Day 2197

Greetings,

It is so easy to form ugly habits of complaining, criticizing, and finding fault. Without even realizing it, we can fall into an awful rut of speaking negative words. Our speech can affect our lives for good or for bad.

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) – “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

It may not be the words we speak to others as much as what we say to ourselves. Our self-talk can be destructive—or it can be liberating and life-giving. Which one is yours?

Father, I pray that You will help me cultivate a lifestyle of speaking positive, encouraging words, rather than making negative remarks that produce death. Help me learn to speak life both to and about others, as well as in the conversations I have within my own heart.

Today, I’m worshiping with Clint Brown and “Waiting on You.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
