Greetings,
Scripture tells us that when we believe on Christ, we will never be “put to shame:”
1 Peter 2:6 (NKJV) – “Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
Why is this promise so important? It reveals the difference between guilt and shame. Guilt is a feeling of remorse for our wrong thoughts and deeds. Because we are descendants of Adam, we have all experienced feelings of guilt. But those feelings can easily be resolved by simply asking God to forgive us.
However, shame is a very different matter. Shame is not about what you’ve done; it’s about who you are. Shame goes to the core of your being. The enemy wants you to be ashamed of who you are. He wants you to believe that you’re inferior and worthless. As flawed as we know we are, he often succeeds in causing us to live with shame. But if you will believe on Christ, it will change everything! You will become a child of God. As His son or daughter, you are worth more to Him than all of the world!
Father, thank You for forgiving and washing away my sins with Your blood. Because of who You are, I am now free to be who I am….Your child! You are more Heavenly Father and love me deeply and unconditionally. I receive and walk in my new identity as your child.
Today, I’m worshiping with William Murphy and “When I’m Weak.”
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
