Devotional: Day 2243

Greetings,

In this fractured and divided age, have you ever felt as if those around you were angry, critical, or filled with hate? Does it even seem that the enemy is looking for something to use against you? The author of this psalm understood those feelings:

Psalm 57:4 (NKJV) – “My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men Who are set on fire, Whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword.”

While the times in which we live may seem unusual, today’s challenges are not new at all. Even when this psalm was written, people were critical, hostile, and searching for ways to harm others. David, the author of this psalm, was fleeing from Saul, who was doing his best to kill him. But if God protected David, why wouldn’t He do the same for you?

Thank You, Lord, for protecting and keeping us safe. I’m asking You to heal the many divisions in our broken world and speak to those who would love to harm Your people. Protect Your children in countries where they are persecuted for their faith. Throw down tyrants and end oppression. Speak peace and comfort to those who are suffering.

Today, I’m worshiping with Clint Brown and “Lord, I Praise You.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
