Devotional: Day 2249

Greetings,

Did you know that God has strong feelings against those who bring division among His people?

Romans 16:17 (NKJV) – “Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.”

Why do you suppose this is such a sensitive matter to God? It’s because He remembers the division caused by Lucifer, His leading worshiper, in eternity past. God remembers the pain, as if it was yesterday, when a third of heaven’s angels sided with satan. They had to be cast out of heaven for joining the rebellion of this former angel of light.

How do you think God feels about the terrible division that exists in our world today? He knows how even heaven can be disrupted by strategies that separate us. Even more so, can you imagine how His heart aches when He sees so much division in churches—from doctrine to politics—when the prayer of His Son was that “we would be one”?

Father God, help Your people to be “one. Unite our spirits at the foot of the cross. The cross breaks down the barriers between us. It causes us to see things from a different perspective; from Your perspective. I pray that You would break our hearts with the things that break Your heart, and teach us to love the things that You love.

Today, I’m worshiping with Sarah Reeves and “Fall Afresh.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
