Greetings,
Scripture instructs us to pray for the leaders of our nation. That’s true regardless of their political persuasion. After all, their decisions affect us believers, whether we agree with them or not. My prayer is for them to enact legislation that will heal our broken world. But to improve our world, God must be involved in their solutions.
In spite of our best efforts, our world cannot be fixed without His help. Think how many have tried to do so on their own—and failed. The healing of a nation can only occur when we ask for His guidance.
Revelation 22:1-2 (NKJV) – “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. [2] In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
The tree of life holds the cure for the world’s ills. While there is no cost for this healing, paradoxically, it required the life of our Lord while He was here on earth. By His stripes, we are healed.
Lord Jesus, bring healing to our world. Bring healing to this nation. After all these years, it would seem that we would have learned that solutions of which You are not a part, are not solutions at all. We need You. Let Your river flow. Let healing come.
