Greetings,
The biggest dangers and the greatest rewards in life are often connected with taking risks. We all try to not make decisions that will harm us in any way. That’s being smart, but in some things, we need to stop wading in the shallows and risk it all. On one occasion, Jesus told His disciples to let down their nets into the ‘deep’ water:
Luke 5:4 (NKJV) – “When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
The disciples let down a net; not the nets (plural) that Jesus instructed them to use. They were tired and didn’t want to risk not catching anything. But it isn’t gambling to trust God.
Too many people want to play it safe by staying close to the shore. Even though they have never ‘stretched’ their faith, they can’t understand why they aren’t as greatly blessed as others. Could some of the things we experience be God calling us to grow our faith?
Lord, I want to believe You for ‘greater’ things. I don’t want to play it safe the rest of my life or be content with mediocrity. Help me to stretch my faith so that I may accomplish much more for the Kingdom of God!
Today, I’m worshiping with Free Chapel and “He’s Been Faithful.”
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
