Devotional: Day 2264

Greetings,

When Noah released the dove from the ark, it went out looking for a place to rest.

Genesis 8:8-9 (NKJV) – “He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. [9] But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.”

This beautiful story is an analogy of the Holy Spirit looking for a place to dwell. He is always searching for a resting place. Unfortunately, at first the dove found no place to land and had to return to the ark.

When God looks for a place to rest, are the hearts of His people open to Him? Is the church ready to receive Him? Is Inspire Church beckoning for Him to draw close and to abide in us? Our greatest calling is to provide an earthly Tabernacle where the Holy Spirit can dwell.

Come Holy Spirit! Rest upon us … dwell in us. I hunger for more of You. May I never grieve Your precious Holy Spirit with a bad attitude, unbelief, or any other thought or deed that would prevent You from resting among us.

Today, I’m worshiping with Leon Timbo and “Resting Place.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
