Devotional: Day 2275

Greetings,

Religion teaches you to feel shame because of our imperfections. Quite the opposite, the world says we can do whatever we want and we should therefore forget about the Bible. People often opt for one or the other of these two positions. But what does God’s Word tell us? There really is a third option.

Romans 8:1 (NKJV) – “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

What a different message than that of religion or of the world. The Scripture assures us that if we live according to the Spirit and the principles of God’s Word, we will not walk according to the flesh. We need not be concerned about condemnation.

It also teaches that if our lives are in Christ, we are free from shame. Yes, we may experience guilt when we’ve done wrong, but that can easily be resolved if we’ll turn to the Father—not away from Him. Instead of condemning us, God loves and accepts us.

God, I thank You today for setting me free from condemnation and removing the shame I once carried. I am free because of Your great love for me—and I thank You. You have lifted the burden of my failures and delivered me. I am grateful.

Today, I’m worshiping with Anaysha Cooper and “Let Praises Rise.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
