Greetings,
How many victories have we taken the credit for, that were actually won by God?
Psalm 44:3 (NKJV) – “For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.”
The psalmist acknowledges that Israel could never have saved themselves or been victorious over their enemies alone. It was the Lord who was always showing them favor.
How many times have we secretly imagined that we were victorious because of our unique insight, intelligence, correct choices, wit, skill, or special ability? Time and time again, God has saved us in situations when we took all the credit!
Father God, I thank You for the many times You have stepped in and rescued me when I was totally unaware of what was happening. How surprised we will be in heaven when we discover how often Your grace was covering us. Oh, how I thank You!
