Greetings,
Just how important is it that we read the Word of God each day of our lives? Jesus prayed and asked this request for His followers.
John 17:17 (NKJV) – “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
We are sanctified by the truth that is the Word of God. Without His Word, our lives quickly become bogged down by the filthiness of this world and the contamination of sin. Do you ever feel stuck? The Truth will set you free.
That is why the psalmist declared that he had hidden the Word of God in his heart that he might not sin against God. Remember that the word “sin” is an archery term that means to miss the target. Our target is the destiny that God created especially for each one of us. By daily studying His Word, we can stay on track to fulfill our God-ordained purpose.
Father, I thank You for the Bible. I need Your Word to guide and sanctify me every day. Help me always treasure Your Word and study it continually. Let Your Word direct my path today and keep me from going where You would not want me to be. Use the truths of Scripture to help make me more like You.
