Devotional: Day 2363

Greetings,

The media learned long ago that “bad news” sells.

According to the old joke, a man was standing on a bridge getting ready to jump. After a passerby called 911, a policeman came and told the man, “Don’t jump. It can’t be that bad. I’ll tell you my problems and then you tell me yours.“ The man told the policeman his problems and the policeman told the man his. Then they both jumped.

Bad news affects everyone. Complaining about trouble doesn’t fix it. It can rob you of hope and increase stress—which can weaken your immune system. But good news is much better for us. God wants to help us change our thinking, from focusing on negatives to seeing the many blessings that He has bestowed upon us!  When we allow that to happen, it gives us the power to change our circumstances!

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) – “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.”

Heavenly Father, help us not to worry and dwell on things that we cannot control. Instead, teach us to trust in Your goodness, for You are a GOOD GOD! I claim Your covering and protection over all of our families. In Jesus’ Name!

Today, I’m worshiping with Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes and “The Blessing.”
