It seems that misery really does love company! Why do I say that? Because bad news gets everyone’s attention. It sells. The networks would be in trouble if it didn’t. But constantly focusing on problems isn’t good for anyone. Suppose the media had to stop publishing all the bad news for seven days? We would probably be a lot better off!
There is actually a book that is filled with news that is incredibly good. Its central message is the Gospel, or GOOD NEWS. It’s called the Bible. Strange, how people have the Word of God pictured the opposite way! It isn’t meant to cramp your style. Rather it is intended to give you life.
A man asked Jesus what he could do to have eternal life. Jesus answered in Matthew 19:16b (NKJV) “….if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
Heavenly Father, Your commandments give me life. That’s because Your Word is all about LIFE! May we learn to trust in Your direction, for You are GOOD! I am blessed because Your Word sets me free. It contains principles by which I can live a life without shame or regret. It also instructs me how I can be in right relationship with You and be with You in the world to come. Thank You for news that is really GOOD!
