Greetings,
God wants our whole heart—not just a part of it. We do best when we are all in for God, don’t we? Notice what Jesus said about the heart:
Matthew 22:37-38 – “Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORD your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, and with ALL your mind.’ [38] This is the FIRST and GREAT commandment.”
Devotion to God should flow from a heart that’s totally dedicated to Him. The quality of our worship and faith, the blessings we receive, and our daily walk are all affected by the degree of our devotion to Him. Israel tried to “mix” their worship of the one true God with devotion to other “gods.”
2 Kings 17:33 (NKJV) – “They feared the LORD, yet served their own gods according to the rituals of the nations from among whom they were carried away.”
Sharing their devotion to God with “other gods” didn’t work so well for Israel. Neither does it work for you and me. We cannot serve God and this world!
Father, help me to surrender ALL of my heart to You and to love You with ALL of my heart, soul, mind and strength. Help me to be completely Yours today and every day that I live. Let me know the depths of Your Spirit and the secrets of Your Word. I love You so much!
