Devotional: Day 2440

Greetings,

Worry is caused by the enemy trying to disturb our sense of peace. King Sennacherib sent a threatening letter to Hezekiah, king of Judah. Have you ever felt as though the enemy was sending you a ‘warning letter’? He loves to frighten us doesn’t he? His plan is to destroy our faith, because worry is the exact opposite of faith. But notice what Hezekiah did with his letter from the enemy:

Isaiah 37:14-15, 17 (NKJV) – “And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. [15] Then Hezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying: … [17] Incline Your ear, O LORD, and hear; open Your eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.”

Take those concerns causing fear and doubt to God. Do as Hezekiah did, and lay them before the Lord in prayer. Then let Him fix it for you!

Father, I thank You for peace today. I place every concern that I have before You. That means that every uncertainty about my future, health, finances, family or any other issues that I face, I am submitting to You. I am grateful for the peace of God that is filling my heart and mind right now. I love You and focus my thoughts on You!

Today, I’m worshiping with Josh Sherman and “I Am Not Alone.”
