Devotional: Day 2446

Greetings,

Ever notice how unity is seldom achieved by seeking unity for its own sake? It is rather discovered when we focus on the same objectives.

Question: if we humans would sincerely seek to please God, would such things as hate, envy, cruelty, racism, violence, war, selfishness, and other problems even exist?

Think about this: if two people, beginning miles apart, will lift up Christ and draw near to Him, it’s much like moving from the two opposing corners of a triangle toward its apex. Even if they begin miles apart, the triangle will automatically converge as we get closer to the top. Everything that has divided us will be left behind. The ground is level at the foot of the cross, for the One on the cross loves all of mankind!

On the other hand, when we fail to elevate Christ or make Him part of the equation, our efforts to bridge the distance between differences, ethnicities, cultures, and divisions always falls terribly short. Since God is love, when we truly know Him, we will also love our brother. The head of everything is Christ. Let’s move toward Him and in doing so, be drawn together.

Father, help us discover the value in one another. It is so much easier to see another person’s worth when we draw closer to You. I pray that You would heal the divisions that threaten to tear our world apart, in Your Precious Name! We are all Adam’s children, and the sons and daughters of God. That means we all have great need of your grace.

Today, I’m worshiping with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and “Pleasing.”
