Devotional: Day 256

Greetings,

This is Thanksgiving Day, but when you think about it, everyday should be a day of thanksgiving to the Lord. We have all come through things in 2020 that we weren’t sure we would survive. God has brought us this far by His grace and strength. It certainly hasn’t been by our own power that we have made it. The psalmist said:

Psalm 107:1 (NKJV) “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”

How much more is there left for us to endure? No one can say, but this much I’m convinced of: if we thank Him for all that He has already done, He will not fail to see us safely through anything else that is ahead.

Five times in Psalms 107, the writer reminds us to give God thanks. Read verses 1, 8, 15, 21, 31. Why? Because thanksgiving is the key to making it through everything still standing!

Father, I thank You for Your amazing grace and strength, for Your protection and love. I owe everything good to You. Thank You for looking after me and my loved ones in 2020. You are the best!
