Greetings,
How many victories have we taken the credit for that were actually won by God?
Psalm 44:3 (NKJV) – “For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.”
The psalmist declares that Israel could never have saved themselves or won the victory over their enemies. It was always the Lord who was acting in their favor.
How many times have we secretly imagined that it was our human insight, our intelligence, correct choices, wit, skill, or ability that made us victorious? Time and time again, God has saved us while we were taking all the credit!
Father God, I thank You for the many times You have stepped in and rescued me when I was totally unaware of what was happening. How surprised we will be when we get to heaven and discover how often Your grace has covered us! Oh, how I thank You!
