Devotional: Day 308

Greetings,

It’s so unfortunate that most of us have been taught that we should do our personal business first—and then God’s work, if we can find the time.

Luke 2:49 (NKJV) – “And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

If Jesus put the Father’s business first, so should we. That was His calling and assignment. But for many years, He worked on a job to support His ministry.

That’s also the way we should look at life. To discover your special assignment, you may have to change the way you observe life—and even your job. Since you have a destiny, God has called you to do something special with your life. Like Jesus, that’s why you were born!

Your job isn’t your ultimate calling. It’s only a way to support whatever your calling may be. Your ultimate calling is the Father’s business. That is your assignment.

Father, help me find the reason You created me. Since I have a purpose, help me discover what it is and to use my job to fund my assignment for Your Glory!

Today, I’m going way back to the Mississippi Children’s Choir and “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.”
