Devotional: Day 31

Greetings,

Have you learned the benefit of just becoming still when the pressures of life become unbearable? Our tendency is to get really busy so we can get our minds off our problems. When our actions become frenetic, we will go shopping, go to the gym, visit with friends, etc. The trouble with being so busy is that you’ve not only forgotten your problems, neither have you thought about your Heavenly Father. God wants us to be still so that we can focus on Him and His goodness.

Psalm 46:10-11 (NKJV) – “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! [11] The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah”

“Selah” is thought to be the desert city of Petra located midway on an important caravan trading route. As traders traveled through the vast desert, thirsty, worn and exhausted, they would stop at Selah and rest before resuming their journey. So, Selah means: stop and think about how you’ve made it this far, and then regain your strength for the remainder of the journey.

Be still and know that the Lord, He is God. When you do, He will strengthen you for the rest of your journey!

Today I’m worshiping to “Hunger” by the Binions. https://youtu.be/Bhl8swv7c14

Remember to stay inside as much as possible, wash your hands often with soap, don’t touch your face, and practice social-distancing.

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
