Greetings,
All of God’s Word applies to each of us on our journey; but have you noticed how He can cause certain passages to come alive?
Psalm 139:1 (NKJV) – “O LORD, You have searched me and known me.”
Psalm 139:16 (NKJV) – “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in
Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.”
God knows you so intimately. He knows your name. Our Heavenly Father knows precisely where you are in life and what you’re going through. He also knows exactly what you need at any given moment. That’s why the time you spend in His Word every day is so beneficial. When you open the Bible in prayer, He will illuminate the words and allow them to speak in a manner that will meet your exact need at that very moment.
That’s what happened when two distressed disciples were traveling along the road to Emmaus. When Christ began to walk with them, He spoke words that gave them precisely what they needed. Later, they said, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32 NKJV).
Lord, speak to us from Your Word today, as You did on the road to Emmaus, and give us this day our “daily bread.”
Today, I’m worshiping with Riddle and Gretzinger and “You Have Won Me.”
