Greetings,
Zechariah 1:3 (NKJV) – “Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the LORD of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts.”
Israel was in big trouble! They had turned away from God and their glorious future and reduced to slavery under the Babylonians, and then the Medo-Persians.
As the philosopher Santayana stated, “Those who forget their history are condemned to repeat it.” Everyone talks about our nation’s history or a person’s history, but what about our human history?
How many times must the catastrophic effects of turning away from God be repeated? And even worse, to experience this as individuals? We must first return to God individually, in our own hearts, and then as a nation, and our world. The very act of turning to Him will restore His favor upon us.
Father, help us turn to You, today! Please forgive and heal us of the terrible conditions we have brought upon ourselves by thinking we could be blessed or become prosperous without You.
Today, I’m worshiping with Jeremy Riddle and “I Want to Know You.”
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
Pastor
