Devotional: Day 644

Greetings,

Fear is the exact opposite of faith. Notice what Jesus told His disciples in the midst of a raging storm when they felt sure that they were about to perish:

Mark 4:40 (NKJV) – “But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

The answer to Jesus’ question was obvious. The disciples were fearful because of what they saw, the sounds they heard, and their desperate situation. You can almost hear them saying to one another, “Guys, we’ve got to bail. This boat is about to capsize and we’re going to sink. There’s no way we can make it!”

When you’re filled with fear, it squeezes faith right out of you. That’s why you must guard your thinking. This is also why I seldom watch TV. The daily news is so filled with angry rhetoric and negative reports, why should I subject myself to all of this? Instead, I’ve chosen to simply watch a news app.

Lord, today I choose to trust You with my life and my future. You alone are a tower of protection that can shield and protect me and my family in the storms of life!

Today, I’m worshiping with Joseph Larson and “Why Should I Worry.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
