Greetings,
In this season, we’re asking God to turn our hearts sincerely back to Him. I don’t believe He is responsible for the terrible things that have and are happening; but I do believe He can use them to get our attention!
For many years, secularism and atheism have become much more dominant in our society. Prayer and value-based education have been removed from our public schools. Abortion has been legalized, moral values are mocked, and God has been kicked out of our universities. In addition to all of this, affluence and prosperity have caused us to feel secure and in need of nothing. But this is what scripture tells us:
Psalm 9:17 (NKJV) – “The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.”
When the principles of God’s Word are ignored, nations bring great suffering upon themselves. God is letting us discover just how much we really do need Him!
Lord, help me to honor the teachings of Your Word in my own life. I want to be an advocate for the values of Your Kingdom, and not for my own carnal desires. Be Lord of all in my life and help me to represent You well, I pray.
Today, I’m worshiping with Paul Baloche and “Fairest Lord Jesus.” It is believed that this song was written in the 12th century. It became the theme song in one of the world’s greatest revivals in South Africa, led by Andrew Murray in 1860.
