Devotional: Day 761

Greetings,

Today is Good Friday, the day our Savior was crucified for our sins. Why is it called “Good” Friday? It certainly didn’t seem to be good for Jesus! No, what happened 2,000 years ago on this very day was for OUR good!

As we prepare for Easter, we are overwhelmed by what Christ actually did for us. Divinity had been wrapped in humanity; He who was sinless took our sin; the One who is worthy of all praise was cursed and reviled; He who is eternal, experienced the pain of death. When we could not ascend to Him, He came down to us. While we could never purchase our freedom, God did it for us with the blood of His own Son.

What is so amazing is that He didn’t have to do it … but He did! Although it cost Him everything, it was so good for us, this day will always be called, “Good Friday!”

Thank You, for all You suffered for me. Thank You, for taking my sins upon Yourself. I would be lost were it not that You became the sacrifice for my sins. I am overwhelmed when I think of all You did for me. I could never repay You. I can only say that I love You so much for being my Savior.

Today, I’m worshiping with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and “Revelation 19:1.”
