Greetings,
There’s no doubt about it—before this COVID-19 crisis, the passion of many believers had waned until they had become lukewarm. The average Christian was attending church only 1.7 times a month … and slipping. On average, Christians have only been giving 2.5% of their income to God, rather than the tithe. Only 32% of Christians bothered to read their Bibles every day.
A recent survey also revealed that among U.S. pastors, only 51% believe in the moral teachings of the Bible. In fact, a group of pastors recently wrote a letter to the governor of their state—not to protest abortions, but urging him to allow abortions to be performed after a fetal heartbeat had been detected. And all this happened at a time when surgical procedures, such as those for detecting cancer, had been postponed that COVID-19 patients could be treated. Imagine! They were fine with not treating those with cancer, but insisted that abortions must continue. And these were pastors!
America and Western nations have walked away from the covering of God’s grace and protection. No wonder we were struck and could not break free from the devastating grip of this pandemic. Along with the Psalmist, we must ask, “Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6).
Oh God, turn our hearts back to You. Cause this spirit of blindness to be broken that grips our land and even believers. Make us to experience true metanoia, and to truly change our minds about sin and unrighteousness.
Today, I’m worshiping with Bethel and “God of Revival.”
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
Pastor
