Devotional: Day 769

Greetings,

Today, I’m worshiping with Sipho Ngwenya and “Ebenezer.”

I love this song and its beautiful harmony, for which Gospel music in South Africa is noted. But, let me explain how they often use the “call and response” style of music. The words of this exuberant song come from:

1 Samuel 7:12 (NKJV) – “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

The translation is: “Ebenezer, you have been with us thus far. We thank you, you have been with us thus far.” Do you have any Ebenezer memorials in your life that remind you of a time when God helped you? I do. And if you’ll think about it, I’m sure you have some, too!

I trust this song will be a blessing to you. During the last two years of the terrible pandemic, the funds for our missionaries have decreased dramatically. So, as we pray, let us also remember to include a sacrificial offering on the first Sunday of each month at Inspire Church to bless our missionaries.

Lord, I cannot help but look back over my life and think of all You brought me through. I have faced many Goliaths along the way. Because of You, I have survived things that I should not have survived. You were there, and You made a way. You are so good to me!

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
