Greetings,
Today, I’m worshiping with Sipho Ngwenya and “Ebenezer.”
I love this song and the beautiful harmony for which Gospel music is noted in South Africa. But, let me explain their “call and response” style of music. The words of this exuberant song come from:
1 Samuel 7:12 (NKJV) – “Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
The translation is: “Ebenezer, you have been with us thus far. We thank you, you have been with us thus far.” Have you had any “Ebenezer memorials” in your life that remind you of God’s help? I have. And if you’ll think about it, I’m sure you’ll remember some, too!
Since today is Missions’ Sunday, I trust this song will be a blessing to you. As we pray, let us also remember to include a sacrificial offering to bless our missionaries.
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
Pastor
