Devotional: Day 790

Greetings,

Fear is like a terrible monster. Whether it’s fear of illness, loss of health or employment, losing a relationship, or something else that we highly value, fear can be debilitating.

Does that mean that we’ll never have another fearful moment? To the contrary, fear can be a healthy, normal response to a real threat. Not knowing what’s coming next in a time of crisis can be very unsettling. Notice what the psalmist said:

Psalm 56:3-4 (NKJV) – “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. [4] In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?”

He doesn’t say, “if” I’m ever afraid, but “whenever” I’m afraid, I will trust in You! He was determined to trust God when tomorrow is “unknowable.” Don’t allow the enemy to torment you about things you aren’t certain of. Instead, trust the faithful One who already knows the outcome!

Lord, help me to trust You when I am afraid. Life can be so uncertain, but Your love and care are steadfast. You are always with me, even in the dark and stressful times of life. You are so good!!

Today, I’m worshiping with Christy Nockels and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
