Greetings,
God has such a soft heart! That may sound strange, since it’s not the way we would normally describe our Heavenly Father. Perhaps it’s because most of us were taught that He is stern, demanding, and quick to punish those who do wrong. But is that really true? Read what Jeremiah said:
Jeremiah 26:2-3 (NKJV) – “Thus says the LORD: ‘Stand in the court of the LORD’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Do not diminish a word. [3] perhaps everyone will listen and turn from his evil way, that I may relent concerning the calamity which I purpose to bring on them because of the evil of their doings.’”
“Perhaps” they will listen, so He can “relent” …Wow! It has never been God’s will to punish people. He even pleads with us to turn from our evil ways and obey His Word. But if we refuse to obey, we can expect His justice that awaits the disobedient.
I don’t believe the COVID-19 pandemic was the judgment of God. Neither is the war in the Ukraine. But, let’s pray for our world, our nation, and our city when crises come that we will recognize our error and that God’s goodness will lead us to repentance.
Father, I pray that our world will turn to You. May the ungodly make room for You by rearranging their priorities in a way that would be pleasing to You. Let Your Kingdom come. We need You in this broken world.
Today, I’m worshiping with Jonathan Reynolds and “Make Room.”
We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
