Devotional: Day 812

Greetings,

I often meet people who want to know more about intimate worship. Since this type of worship precedes transformation, it should become an earnest, sincere desire of every believer.

One of the best ways to enter into God’s Presence is not to speak or sing about Him, but directly to Him. David said that we should enter into His gates with thanksgiving, which would be an offering of gratitude and thanks directly to the Lord. But instead of merely saying, “I’m so grateful for what You have done for me,” why not begin to recall and name those blessings?

That part can usually be handled pretty well, but what comes next? Have you tried singing directly to the Lord?

Psalm 96:1 (NKJV) – “Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth.”

Notice that it’s not singing about God, but to Him. At times, we stumble with our words of thanksgiving because of our limited vocabulary of expressing our love and emotions to God. Singing words that others have written can be a powerful way to express our own feelings if we sing it to God instead of “congregational” singing. Try it the next time you’re in a church service, and especially in your personal devotions. Sing to the Lord!

I worship You Lord! You are wonderful and Your heart is for me. I love You and praise You!

Today, I’m worshiping with Reggie Royal and Judah in a worship medley.

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
