Devotional: Day 818

Greetings,

It’s impossible to overemphasize the influence a family altar could have upon the members of your family. If parents truly knew Christ and were intimately acquainted with His love and beauty, they would have no greater desire than for their children to personally know Him as they do.

The best way to ensure that this happens is to introduce them to the Lord at a very young age. Listen to Paul’s advice to Timothy:

2 Timothy 1:3-5 (NKJV) – “I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, [4] greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, [5] when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt FIRST in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.”

Grandmother Lois successfully passed her faith to her daughter, Eunice; then she successfully imparted that same faith to her son, Timothy. One of the best ways to do this is with a family altar.

Lord, I value the time I spend with You each day. Help me to lead those I love into a greater relationship with You that they also may find out how wonderful You are. You are the best!

Today, I’m worshiping with Bethel and “Touch of Heaven.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
