Devotional: Day 83

Greetings,

Sometimes the enemy rejoices too soon. It’s much like the last play of the Super Bowl and your team is trailing by 5 points in the last seconds of the game, while the opposing team has already begun to celebrate.

But wait….! Suddenly, out of nowhere, a pass comes across the field to a receiver who is waiting, all by himself. Touch down!! There is no flag on the play as the score changes—and your team has won!

This has happened time and time again in scripture. Think about Joseph in Egypt, Israel at the Red Sea, David before Goliath, and Daniel in the lion’s den. Are you beginning to understand how committed God is that you will make it—even when there seems to be no way possible? When you get knocked down, you get up again. When it seems so dark you’ll never see daylight again, you keep believing!

Micah 7:8 (NKJV) – “Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The LORD will be a light to me.”

Father, today I thank You for giving me the assurance that even when I stumble and fall, I will arise. No, I’m not perfect, but You are; I’m weak, but You are strong. So I declare today that the enemy shouldn’t rejoice too soon. By Your grace, I’m going to make it. Thank You, Lord!

Today, I’m worshiping with Paul McClure and “Reign Above It All.”
