Greetings,
What is the secret for overcoming temptation? We should all know how to resist temptation, since this is a weapon the enemy never tires of using against us. The secret is to continually store His Word in our hearts.
Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) – “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”
If you’re wondering how to make that happen, remember that God’s Word not only makes you aware of His feelings about sin, it will change your thoughts, as well. The Word of God literally reprograms our thinking with God’s thoughts! Because of our fallen nature, we have been thinking incorrectly all of our lives. The Word of God will replace wrong thinking with truth, so that we will want to please Him.
Father, fill my heart and mind with Your desires and thoughts so that sin will no longer be attractive. Teach me to understand how destructive and damaging sin is, to both me and those I love.
