Devotional: Day 967

Greetings,

Scripture tells us that when we believe on Christ, we will never be “put to shame:”

1 Peter 2:6 (NKJV) – “Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”

Why is this scripture so important? It reveals the difference between guilt and shame. Guilt is a feeling of remorse for our wrong thoughts and deeds. Because we are descendants of Adam, we have all experienced feelings of guilt because we have all sinned. But those feelings can easily be resolved by simply asking God to forgive us.

However, shame is a very different matter. It’s not about what you’ve done. Shame is about who you are. The enemy wants you to live with constant shame. He wants you to believe that you are inferior and worthless. But if you’ll believe on Christ, it will change everything. You will be a child of God who is worth more to Him than all of this world!

Father, thank You for forgiving and washing away my sins with Your blood. Because of who You are, I am now free to be who I am….Your child!

Today, I’m worshiping with William Murphy and “When I’m Weak.”

We love you and are praying for you. Be INSPIRED!
